We painted numbers on the curbs of over 300 houses. We were able to do some major cleaning and brush removal of several alleys. We also had a few teams working on 2 different widow’s homes. In one we remodeled a kitchen including tile work, cabinetry, a new sink and refrigerator. Outdoor renovations, including scraping, re-siding and painting the outside of the house, were done on the other home.
We are so often too busy to meet with friends, family or to invest in one another. What I saw was people demonstrating love by doing a small thing like working together, supporting one another and investing our time together. That is God’s light through each of us, being reflected upon those that spent the day with us from London Square. Through their smiles and laughter, God was smiling back at us, saying job well done.
It was a great day of serving and fellowship. Our Life Group talked about the blessing it will be to the home and cooks but we felt the most blessed.
Sharefest was so Awesome. I really enjoyed seeing everyone working together to make this happen. We were so blessed to be a part of this awesome community outreach, this to me is what the church is- reaching out to our community helping those in need.
We had 15 people participating at our site for Sharefest. It was Mills Elementary School in Owasso. It was great. We cleaned, planted flowers and plants, weeded and laid sod.
Thank you for letting The Gathering be a part of advancing God’s kingdom through unprecedented acts of grace and love. We are grateful to have shared in this exciting, life changing event. Thank you for making this happen!
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the other night. I know God’s heart must be pleased when His church is demonstrating His love so well together. I have really enjoyed getting to know you both more this year and my heart is so ready to do even more for next year!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! I am practically speechless…and doesn’t happen often. The entire building staff is blown away by the amazing flowerbed and especially the lounge makeover. Words can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it is to have an uncluttered, restful, CLEAN, contemporary setting for us at lunch.
